Our popular Hot Chocolate brand, Malcolm’s,was featured on a recent episode of Food Factory, a new show on the Food Network.

Food Factory takes viewers behind the scenes at production facilities to show the audience just how our food is really made. The segment we were in showcased the process and dedication of the Dure Foods team as they mix and blend Canada’s finest Hot Chocolate.

In an eye-opening and mesmerizing new show, Food Factory takes us behind the scenes of amazing production lines to see just how our food is really made.

Dure Foods Expands its Quality Assurance Department

As part of the program of continuous improvement Dure Foods is pleased to announce the addition of Laurie Johnston to the Quality Assurance team.

Laurie has 10 years experience in food manufacturing and will be our Regulatory Supervisor. In addition to standard regulatory responsibilities, Laurie will be overseeing the maintenance of our established HACCP protocols as well as working towards Dure Foods BRC Certification (Global Food Safety Initiative).

Two Dure team members have accepted new responsibilities in our Quality Assurance Department.

Dure Foods is very pleased to announce that Carol Alford has been promoted to the position of Dure Foods Quality Assurance Supervisor. Carol has over 10 years experience at Dure Foods as the Senior Quality Assurance Technician.

Tania Cudmore is now Dure Foods Product Development Supervisor. Tania has been with Dure Foods for over 9 years and we’re proud of her accomplishments and achievements.

Dure Foods is committed to the highest level of quality assurance and these changes will help us meet and exceed our dedication to world-class safety and quality.

Dure Foods awarded top Tim Horton’s Beverage Supplier for 2011

Dure Foods was recognized recently by Tim Hortons for it’s outstanding performance as a supplier to the dominant Canadian restaurant and coffee chain.

The presentation of the Pinnacle Award was made to Hunter Malcolm, President of Dure Foods, at the 2012 Tim Hortons Supplier Symposium on March 1st in Oakville, Ontario. The award salutes suppliers who have satisfied Tim Hortons rigid standards and exceeded expectations as part of the supply chain to the growing company.

The award recognizes Dure Foods as the top Beverage Supplier for 2011.

Malcolm was proud to accept the award but credited the accolade on the efforts of the Dure team. “This award is a great honour and reflects the dedication and hard work from all the team members at Dure Foods.”

GFSI Certification makes Dure foods World Class

In keeping with our tradition of being a world-class manufacturer and packager of fine powder products, Dure Foods is working towards its Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification, within the British Retail Consortium standards (BRC).

This certification positions Dure Foods in the top echelons of food manufacturers in the world.

February 2012 marked a 10-year milestone for 6 of members of our team. Each received a jacket in recognition of their loyalty and dedication to Dure Foods.

In addition to the people who have been with Dure Foods since 2002, we are very proud to have 2 others that have been with us for over 20 years and even one since 1985!

Dure Foods is very fortunate to have a team of such great people! Thank you to each of you!
